Chris Squires

Chris is the steady, supportive foundation behind Squires Cardigan Cottage. Although his heart dog has always been a goofy Golden Retriever, he’ll reluctantly admit he’s usually the one trying to convince everyone to keep every puppy in the litter. Chris plays an essential role in raising well-socialized puppies, ensuring each one is surrounded by a safe, loving, and enriching environment from day one.

Outside of puppy life, Chris serves as a Director of Environmental Health and Safety with nearly 20 years of professional experience, bringing that same level of care, structure, and leadership into everyday life at home. He keeps a close eye on the couple’s four children, ages 4–13, as they help socialize, snuggle, and interact with the puppies. Whether he’s adjusting the puppy nursery cameras or building new desensitization play areas to support early puppy development, Chris is always finding ways to help the puppies thrive.
